Photographs that left me speechelss

This picture was taken Kevin Carter(1960-1994) in the year 1993 during a  Sudan trip.

Kevin was born in Apartheid, South Africa on 13 th September 1960. During the Sudan trip, he saw this starving  girl, lying on the ground crawling towards the feeding center,  knowingly or unknowingly. He took his camera, at the same time a vulture landed on the scene,  as if it was weighting for the girl to die. He stayed there for 20 minutes for the vulture, to spread its wings but it never did. He took this shot before chasing the vulture away. At that time there was a rule which restricted all the journalists and such other people form helping the victims to avoid the diseases so he was helpless. Nobody  knows whether the girl has reached the feeding center or not may she had may be she not.
The picture won the Pulitzer Prize in the year 1994. But he was a human with the pureness in his heart.  the image of the starving kid haunted him. his heart was full of repent that he couldn't helped the poor lad. He became depressed, tensed and frustrated with life.
On 27th July 1994 he committed suicide bearing the burden that he couldn't help the kid. He taped the exhaust of the pick up truck to his passenger seat  till he gasped for the last breath of pure air, which was filled with the Carbon Monoxide.
He wrote in his last death letter
I am depressed . . . without phone . . . money for rent . . . money for child support . . . money for debts . . . money!!! . . . I am haunted by the vivid memories of killings & corpses & anger & pain . . . of starving or wounded children, of trigger-happy madmen, often police, of killer executioners . . . " And then this: "I have gone to join Ken if I am that lucky."

What do you see in the eyes of a child ? Hope,  playfulness, joy, naughtiness, curiosity, and it goes on...
But she was different. When i saw the picture for the first time i saw the hope, I didn't find any curiosity,  any joy, any naughtiness,  i found the hope, the hope that some one will come to save her from the water which was filled with the Volcanic ashes and debris.
This picture was taken by  Frank Fournier on 16th November 1985. Her Name is Omayra Sanchez the victim of the Nevado Del Ruiz volcano Columbia. She was just 13 years old when she died after she got trapped in the mud flow for 3 days.
